The unexpected ending of "Paranormal Activity" spiked an Internet search for "Micah Sloat dead" in the days after the film's nationwide release. Both Micah Sloat and Katie Featherston (who played 'themselves') are actors living in California, although their credit lists are short. This is sure to change since the two are now the talk of the horror-indie genre. Katie and Micah were paid just $500 when they were first cast for the low-budget film. Since the nationwide release of "Paranormal Activity," both Micah and Katie have been offered several gigs. Here's a little background on Micah and Katie:
Katie Featherston
Katie Featherston had just graduated from Southern Methodist University when she was cast in Oren Peli's super-low budget "Paranormal Activity." According to IMDb, Featherston is originally from Texas. She moved to Los Angeles in 2005 to pursue acting. In an interview with "Backstage" on October 22, 2009, the 27-year-old Featherston said she was waiting tables before ''Paranormal Activity.'' Featherston's next project is reportedly another horror flick titled "Walking Distance."
Micah Sloat (not dead)
Micah Sloat was studying music when he was cast in "Paranormal Activity." Sloat, like Featherston, moved to Los Angeles to pursue a career in entertainment in 2005. Sloat told Jenelle Riley of "Backstage" that he worked as a computer programmer "until recently" and said the success of the film has led to auditions. When asked if he was worried about always being though of as the 'guy from Paranormal,' he said, "anything that happens from now until the end of my life is just gravy."
